Architecture inspired and in tune with our surroundings

In forming Butcher Bayley Architects, Luke Butcher and Carrie Bayley took pride in the places that made them. From the historic landscapes of Cambridgeshire, Lancashire and beyond, to our roots in Manchester – we pull a love of sustainable architecture, designed to last while enhancing surroundings.

Our offices are nestled in Oundle, near Peterborough – Luke’s hometown. While our work as architects expands across the East of England and away up to Manchester, where Luke and Carrie met and learnt to do what they love: help people realise their dreams for new homes, places and spaces.

We are ready to make a difference

We’re architects that care about our clients, our communities, and our climate – and in every project we strive to meet the needs of all three.

For us, sustainability is more than a trend or a luxury – it’s a driving value of our architecture. And in our local regions like Rutland, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire – we’ve built a depth of understanding about what it takes to plan, design and build in unison with nature, town planning and local authorities.

We help navigate the best options to embed sustainability into your project – from the importance of retrofit through to the value of Passivhaus design and designing with nature – translating the latest industry innovations to ensure that our work leaves a positive impact.
